in the Trust are invested in a combination of the six investment
alternatives selected by the Investment Committee at Dubuque Bank
& Trust. Donors choose the investment alternatives which best
meet their specific investment objectives, time line, and risk preferences.
Donors can select from
Money Market Fund
The money market fund invests in federally insured deposits or other
money market instruments which mature in one year or less. The fund
seeks maximum current income consistent with the preservation of
capital and daily liquidity.
Bond Fund
The Bond Fund invests in a mutual fund with a diversified portfolio
of fixed income securities of varying maturities. This fund invests
in debt securities issued by the U.S. Government and its agencies,
and corporations. The fund may also invest up to 20 % of its assets
in securities denominated in foreign currencies, and may invest
beyond this limit in U.S. dollar-denominated securities of foreign
issuers.
SRI Balanced Fund
Pax World Fund is a diversified, balanced mutual fund designed to
invest in companies that offer products and services that are essentially
non-military and improve the quality of life. Historically, stocks
have generally comprised between 50% and 75% of total portfolio
holdings with short term (generally under 5 years) investment grade
bonds between 25% and 41% of total holdings.
SRI Bond Fund
The Social Responsibility Investment Bond Fund invests in a mutual
fund with securities similar to the Bond fund except that it limits
its investments with respect to certain socially sensitive issues.
The fund will not invest in the securities of any issuer determined
to be engaged principally in the provision of health care services,
the manufacture of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, pharmaceuticals
or military equipment, the operation of gambling casinos, or the
production or distribution of pornographic materials.
Stock Fund
The Stock Fund invests in a mutual fund with a diversified portfolio
of common stocks and may invest up to 25% of its assets in foreign
securities. The risk and return profile is comparable to that of
the S&P 500 Index.
SRI Stock Fund
The Social Responsibility Investment Stock Fund invests in a mutual
fund with securities similar to the Stock Fund except that it limits
its investments with respect to certain broad-based social screens.
Those screens include, but are not limited to, the environment,
weapons, liquor, tobacco, and gambling.
Investment earnings remain in a donors
gift fund and can then be gifted to eligible charities.
